Learn more about Paper 1: READING

Hello everyone,

How are you?

Ready to learn more about Paper 1: READING?

This section of the First Certificate Exam evaluates your reading comprehension. It lasts an hour and  has 30 questions divided into three parts as follows:

Multiple choice: You will read a text and choose from four possible answers (A, B, C or D) for each of the 8 questions.

Gapped text-sentences: You will read a text from which 7 sentences have been removed and you will then choose from given sentences to complete the text. There will be an extra sentence that will not fit any of the blank spaces.

Multiple matching: You will scan a text or texts and then will have to decide which paragraph or text each of the 15 questions refer to. Some questions may have more than one answer.

We hope you find this information useful  and ask us if you have any questions!

Take care

      Hello Rithy,

      Thank you for your comment!

Practicing is the best way to improve your English… So, keep on reading, watching TV or films and listening to music in English. This will really help you out but you also need to continue studying English! 😉

      Take care
